A Day Trip to Sonoma Over the Weekend
ππThe Sonoma wallpaper in Mac OS is so stunning that I decided to spend a weekend day on a round trip to experience it in person! Short Version: Depart from the Bay Area at 9 AM and head to Viansa Winery β wander around, take photos πΈ Lunch at the girl & the fig β their duck liver mousse with bread is incredibly delicious π€€ Stroll around Sonoma Plaza and visit Sonoma State Historic Park to see the origin of the California Bear Flag π» Visit the Charles M. Schulz Museum in the afternoon to see Snoopy, then drive back home ππ¨ Detailed Version: π Viansa Winery No entry or parking fees! The view is absolutely breathtaking β perfect for photos and overlooking the entire vineyard. There are even lounge chairs where you can relax, soak up the sun, and enjoy the breeze. It's best to go early when it's less crowded, the light is beautiful, and it's not too hot yet. Since I was driving, I didnβt drink any wine. π¦ the girl & the fig Their duck liver mousse is incredibly fragrant! Spread on freshly baked bread, it literally melts in your mouth. The place gets pretty busy during lunch, so Iβd recommend making a reservation in advance. You can park on the street or walk about 5 minutes to a larger free parking lot. π Sonoma Plaza Lots of cute little shops around β great for browsing and taking pictures. π» Sonoma State Historic Park Home to the original California Bear Flag. Honestly, that bear looks kinda chonky and pig-like π·π The Spanish colonial houses here donβt look too different from modern Berkeley homes from a distance. π Charles M. Schulz Museum The museum is filled with Snoopy comics and scenes β super fun to visit with friends! They have a mini classroom and a graduation photo wall that instantly brought back childhood memories. Student discounts are available. There are even Level 2 EV chargers at the entrance! A perfect one-day getaway full of views, food, and nostalgia π #US #CA #Sonoma
