A Designer’s Daily Life 👩🏻🎨
Daily routine: Observing exhibitions and architecture – The Louvre 💠 ‼️The museum’s iconic trio that you can’t miss: Must-sees at the Louvre include the sculpture “Winged Victory,” the statue of Venus de Milo “The Armless Venus,” and Leonardo da Vinci’s painting “Mona Lisa.” 📝Location & Scale: (Located via postal code search) • Situated in the heart of Paris along the Seine River, originally a palace built from the end of the 12th century to the early 13th century, now a comprehensive museum. • One of the world’s largest art museums. • The museum with the highest number of visitors. • A world-famous landmark building. 🖼️Collections: • The Louvre currently houses approximately 615,797 items, of which 482,943 pieces have been accessible online at collections.louvre.fr since March 24, 2021, accounting for 75% of its total collection. Of these, 35,000 artworks are displayed across eight departments within the museum. ✏️Design: • The museum’s layout can be likened to the Chinese courtyard style, with a first, second, and third courtyard arrangement. • The first courtyard features a shopping mall and parking, the second courtyard is the new main entrance with access to the east, south, and north wings, and the third courtyard is the inner courtyard of the Louvre. • This is also a signature atrium-style design by I.M. Pei, seen in the East Wing of the National Gallery of Art in the U.S. and the Fragrant Hills Hotel in Beijing. The atrium under the main entrance allows visitors to gather and move around in the sunlight, embodying the Chinese architectural concept of harmony between heaven and humanity. • This massive yet minimalist design clearly marks the main entrance without severely disrupting the original building’s facade, highlighting the Chinese philosophy of the “Middle Way.” • In terms of materials, glass is used as the primary material, not only does it not severely alter the appearance of the existing building complex, but it also allows sunlight into the basement, continuing Pei’s atrium-style design. Pei chose the pyramid shape because the triangle is the most stable geometric shape. Even a 30x30 meter structure does not require columns and beams; only thin steel cables are needed to support this gigantic glass structure. #TravelFrog #Louvre #LouvreMuseum #ArtNeverDies #EmbraceTheArtisticAura #FeelTheMagicOfArt #ArtIsEverywhere #HistoryAndArt #LivingAboveArt
