A Dream Come True After 40+ Years – It Exceeded All Expectations! 🌟✨

Ever since 1981, when I first heard a cable car driver shout “Top of the Mark!” as we passed by the Mark Hopkins Hotel, I’ve dreamed of staying here. Over the years, I visited San Francisco many times but never stepped inside—until now. We decided to finally make it happen during a two-night stop in San Francisco on our way back from a long trip. Surprisingly, the price was comparable to other hotels in the city, but the experience was truly exceptional! We stayed in Room 828, one of their older rooms, and it was perfect—spacious, elegantly decorated, and blessed with breathtaking views of the downtown skyline. 🏙️🪟 The hotel is located in a fantastic neighborhood, with cable cars stopping right at the doorstep and most of the city within walking distance. We loved strolling all the way to the piers and even took a futuristic, self-driving Waymo taxi back to the Mark Hopkins—what a fun experience! 🚋🤖 Dining options abound just minutes away on foot. We did try to dine at the legendary Top of the Mark rooftop bar on our first night, but the kitchen closed at 10 PM. Our flight had been delayed by two hours, so we just missed it. A small disappointment—the elevator signage suggested it was open until 12:30 AM, which was a bit misleading. Still, we enjoyed a drink there, and the kind server brought us some fries to snack on. The panoramic city views from the top were absolutely spectacular! 🍸🌃 Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Ric Lee, the Chief Concierge, whom we spoke to only as we were leaving. He was incredibly knowledgeable, listened carefully to our preferences, and recommended wonderful lunch spots. We wish we had talked to him sooner! We will definitely stay here on every future visit to San Francisco. The location, the views, the staff, and the beautiful decor are simply unmatched.
