A Great Weekend Spot in the Netherlands—Beekse Bergen 🐒🐘🦌

I recently discovered this fun safari just a 15-minute drive from home, thanks to a friend's recommendation! 🚗💨 Located southeast of Tilburg, the park also features a resort, making it perfect for a short family or friends' getaway. It’s said you might wake up to the sound of giraffes in the morning! 🌅 There are three ways to explore the safari: 🚙 auto tour, 🚢 boat tour, and 🚶 walking tour. We started with the auto tour, following the signs and stopping along the way, which took us about an hour. Feeling unsatisfied after that, we parked at the entrance and decided to walk around the park as well. We managed to see almost all the animals! Unfortunately, the boat tour wasn’t available that day, so we spent about three hours walking and enjoying the sights. 🕒 Most animal information is provided in both Dutch and English, and there are many interactive question boards (mostly in Dutch) that invite visitors to think—answers are usually on the back. 🧐 After reading the information, it’s easy to notice that most of the animals are from Africa, which makes you marvel at the incredible biodiversity of the continent. Interestingly, animals that typically thrive in specific environments—like camels, penguins, and elephants—can adapt to the quirky climate of the Netherlands! 🌍✨ 📢 Some Tips: Pets are not allowed in the park. Staff mentioned that animals can smell pets in cars, which could lead to unnecessary harm. During the auto tour, remember not to roll down your windows to avoid accidental animal encounters! 😳 Feel free to bring snacks and drinks to recharge your energy.
