A Japanese Restaurant in Forest Hills | KATSUNO 🌟

KATSUNO is a traditional Japanese restaurant run by a Japanese chef. It’s quite good! 🌟 The sign is very small and not very noticeable. If you just pass by, you might miss it. Except for the door, everything else, including the windows, is covered with iron chains. It’s reservation-only, so it’s best to book in advance. Walk-ins are rarely accepted. We went for dinner, and there were only three tables. Once the chef finished preparing our meal, he really did pack up and finish for the night. 🍃 Japanese Fried Chicken: Their version is Karaage, the kind without sauce. It’s crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with juices bursting out. Be careful, it’s hot! The seasoning isn’t very strong, but it’s been a while since I’ve had it, so I ordered it anyway. Vinaigrette: I chose the eel option. The eel is very tender and fragrant, and the cucumber is super refreshing. The vinaigrette is light and refreshing. 🌊 Sashimi Platter: The sashimi is very fresh. The waiter will introduce each type. The three on the left are flown in from Japan, and the three on the right are local to the U.S. The bluefin tuna is really delicious. The waiter mentioned that the fish on the platter isn’t fixed, giving it an omakase feel. Highly recommended! 🍣 Nigiri Platter: The vinegared rice is really good—soft, warm, and absolutely the best I’ve had recently! 🎢 The nearby residential area is pretty good for finding parking spots. I definitely recommend it. The shop’s environment is very comfortable, and I’ll be back! 🌇 🌸Address: 103-01 Metropolitan Ave, Queens, NY 11375 #NewYorkEatingDrinkingFun #NewYorkFoodGuide 🌟
