A New Korean-American Inspired Cafe Just Opened In San Francisco — And It Already Has Lines Down The Block
SŌHN only opened a few weeks ago, but it already has eager San Franciscans lining up down the block. SŌHN is a Korean-American-inspired cafe in Dogpatch, co-founded by Chef Deuki Hong and Managing Partner Janet Le. The space is intended to be more than a cafe, focusing on celebrating community and art. There are cozy seating areas for people to enjoy their coffee and a retail space with a curated collection of art and goods from over 30 Korean and Korean-American artists. The beautiful space features high ceilings and a second floor that looks over the lower level of the cafe. With plenty of eclectic seating, from bar seats to cozy, living room-inspired set-ups, the space is ideal for reading and catching up with friends. The cafe’s food menu features a mix of pastries like croissants and a Gochujang caramel cookie , along with more substantial bites perfect for lunch or a quick snack. You can expect butter mandu, a breakfast sandwich with Gyeran Jjim on a sesame croissant, and a spicy cold noodle salad. Plus, the cafe’s take on a classic patty melt includes Korean BBQ Beef, Kimchi, and cheese all on a sesame croissant. For coffee, you can try from a wide selection, including signature iced drinks with a cream top , seasonal beverages like a Melona matcha latte, and classic espresso selections. SŌHN officially opened on August 16th and has already made an impression on the Dogpatch neighborhood. While you’re in the area, we recommend checking out the Museum of Craft and Design next door or grabbing a beer at Standard Deviant’s Pier 70 location. SŌHN is located at 2535 3rd St in Dogpatch . The cafe is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm , and the kitchen closes at 2:30 pm if you plan on ordering food. You can learn more about SŌHN here.
