A Night of Contrasts: From Cozy Treehouse Vibes to Stellar Steaks 🥩✨

Our recent dinner at the restaurant was an adventure in contrasts – a blend of charming ambiance, some culinary hits and misses, and ultimately, a magnificent steak that saved the evening! 🌳🏠 The Ambiance: Quirky & Cramped We were seated in the unique "treehouse" area on the landing. While the concept is undoubtedly charming and intimate, the execution was a bit tight. Two tables squeezed into a very small space meant we were practically sharing our conversation with our neighbors. It felt cozy at first, but the lack of privacy became noticeable as the evening went on. It's a novel idea, but perhaps better suited for a larger area. The Starters: A Mixed Bag 🍤 Bang Bang Shrimp: We started with the Bang Bang Shrimp. The flavor profile was there—creamy, a little spicy, and tangy—a signature sauce that Bonefish Grill has perfected. However, the texture was a letdown. The shrimp were overly soft and lacked the crispiness that makes this dish so enjoyable. It felt a bit one-note in the mouth. 🍤😐 Veal Meatballs: The fried veal meatballs were... okay. They were savory and adequately cooked, but they didn't stand out. They lacked a certain depth of flavor or a unique element to make them memorable. A solid "C" in a world of exciting appetizers. Porcini Scallops: This was the biggest disappointment among the starters. At $50 for four scallops, expectations were high. While they were cooked perfectly—seared to a beautiful golden brown and tender inside—their size was surprisingly small. For a premium price point, you expect a more substantial, luxurious bite. We left wanting just one more scallop to feel truly satisfied, and the value proposition felt off. 💸😕 The Sides & Salad: Simple & Shareable 🥗 Baked Potato: The $15 baked potato, topped with melted cheese, was fine but unremarkable. It was exactly what you'd expect, and the comparison to a chain like TGI Fridays is apt. At that price, a more gourmet touch—like smoked gouda, chive crème fraîche, or applewood-smoked bacon bits—would have been welcome. Mediterranean Salad: This was a practical choice. The portion was sizable, so we asked for two spoons to share and mix everything thoroughly in the large bowl. Trying to toss a Mediterranean salad with all its components (feta, olives, onions, peppers) in a small dish is a logistical nightmare! The shared mixing actually became a fun, collaborative part of the meal. 🥄🥄 The Main Event: The Steaks Save the Day! 🎉🥩 #RibeyeLove #SteakLover #HonestReview #RoomForImprovement #ButTheSteakThough
