A One-Day Tour in São Paulo🌆
Just one stop away from heading to Chile for the real trip—this quick one-day tour in São Paulo, Brazil, somehow adds a unique piece to my South America itinerary. Before coming, I always thought the social media talk about the security here might be overexaggerated. But after arriving, I realized it’s probably not far from the truth. After landing in São Paulo, I first stored my luggage: walk out of T3 Arrivals, cross the road, and there are luggage lockers, but they’re not cheap—I stored one large suitcase and one small one for 150 reais (about 193 RMB). For transportation, Uber is convenient enough to get anywhere. Attractions🗺️ 🕹️São Paulo Cathedral It lives up to its reputation… but the square in front is full of homeless people, drug users, and addicts😰. The thing is, unlike most homeless people in the US who are mostly non-aggressive, these ones stare at you with a menacing look. I only dared to take photos quickly while standing next to the police. The cathedral itself is really magnificent, though—just that the devout prayers inside and the chaos outside on the street form a stark contrast. 🕹️Beco do Batman (Batman Alley) Brazil’s most famous graffiti alley is here! It gets its name from a graffiti of Batman on one wall, and this area is relatively safe. Walk and take photos along the way—colorful graffiti explodes on every wall, and any angle makes for a good shot📸. It’s a rare relaxed moment in the trip. 🕹️Avenida Paulista Since it was Monday, the observation deck I wanted to visit was closed, so I just took a drive around. This street is a lot like New York’s Fifth Avenue—quite bustling—and I also caught a quick glimpse of Brazil’s 1000th McDonald’s from the car, so I didn’t miss the little easter egg)~ 🕹️Parque Ibirapuera It’s exactly like New York’s Central Park! Lots of people jogging and having picnics here, the sun on the grass is so pleasant, and you can see the Pioneers’ Statue. Sitting for a while and enjoying the breeze finally eased the earlier tension. Finally, a personal recommendation for desserts here: acai powder smoothie🍧 (see the last picture)! It’s not too sweet, refreshing in the mouth—super relieving after a tiring day of walking~ #Brazil #BrazilTravel #AcaiPowder #BrazilVisa
