A Place You Must Visit in Your Lifetime
A Place You Must Visit in Your Lifetime, Enchanted by the Beauty of Ghent‼️ When it comes to Belgium, my favorite place has to be Ghent😍. This small city, brimming with medieval charm, feels like something straight out of Hogwarts. I highly recommend adding the hidden gem of Ghent to your travel list. Here's a leisurely one-day itinerary for you to follow directly in Ghent.☑️ 🧾 Itinerary - St. Michael's Bridge → Lys River → Castle of the Counts → Zuivelbrugstraat → Town Hall → Belfry → St. Nicholas' Church → St. Bavo's Cathedral → Take Five Espressobar → De Gekroonde Hoofden 📌 6 Must-See Spots 🔹 St. Michael's Bridge - This left a deep impression on me. I arrived during the blue hour, and walking across the bridge, I couldn't help but exclaim at how incredibly beautiful Ghent is. 🔹 Lys River - Simply wander along the riverbanks. There are many picturesque spots for great photos. 🔹 Castle of the Counts - The admission is 13€. It features typical European castle architecture. Climbing to the top offers a perfect vantage point to capture the essence of Ghent in a single frame. 🔹 Belfry - The ticket costs 11€. After climbing a short flight of stairs, you can take an elevator to the top. If you have time, I suggest heading to the top half an hour before sunset to catch the beautiful sunset as well. 🔹 Take Five Espressobar - I chose this place based on its Google ratings, and it turned out to be quite popular locally. The environment is comfortable, and the coffee is well-made. The neighboring WAY is also worth a visit. 🔹 De Gekroonde Hoofden - For just 25€, you get unlimited roasted pork chops! As a meat lover, I highly recommend it. In terms of flavor, my personal preference is: salt and pepper > mixed > honey > sweet and sour. When ordering more, I suggest getting half portions to try a variety of tastes. 💭 Tips 🔸Most flights within Europe from Brussels land at Charleroi Airport. You can take a Flibco bus from Ghent to the airport for 19.9€ one way. 🔸Buy train tickets from SNCB and tram/bus tickets from De Lijn. There are also ticket machines near the platforms. Use Google Maps for navigation, and with these three apps, you can easily get around the Dutch-speaking region. 🔸Book your accommodation near St. Michael's Bridge for easy access and the convenience of walking to all the attractions. #SlowTravel#EuropeanTravel#Belgium#Ghent#LocalFaves#UnderratedTreasures#SmallTownCharm#OffTheBeatenPath#HolidayCityWalk
