A Police Escort in Fortaleza’s Porto das Dunas! 🚔🇧🇷

Originally planned to skip this stop (it was mostly a business trip), but this unexpected encounter with Brazilian police was too good not to share! After a 5-hour drive from Jericoacoara, we arrived at our hotel in Porto das Dunas. The area felt remote—our hotel had a lush garden with pools and hammocks 🌴, but outside? Broken roads and eerie darkness. (Jericoacoara felt safe, but Fortaleza’s rep had us nervous!) By 6 PM, we ventured out for food. Spotted two sharp-looking police motorcycles near the beach 🏍️, admired the sunset 🌇, then hunted for seafood paella. After a failed detour into a 4-star hotel buffet (meh 🍽️), we found a better spot—where two cops were chilling over drinks. My partner joked: "Maybe they’ll give us a ride back?" Turns out—they did! 🎉 We asked via Google Translate, and they agreed. At first, they followed us on bikes as we walked… but soon, we hopped on ("Faster this way!"). In under 2 minutes, we were safely back! Shouted "Obrigado!" with my broken Portuguese. 🙏 Who knew a work trip would include a police escort?
