During the long winter, it’s a popular spot to soak up some green and oxygen 🍃💨. Best visited on a sunny day—the blue domes double the cheer! Go from the tropical dome to the desert dome—the drop in humidity is instantly relaxing 🌵☀️. 📍 Forest Park Beach (North Chicago) Pass through what seems like a quiet, upscale neighborhood, then one sharp turn—and the gorgeous lake appears! 🏖️ The beach itself is nice, but the parking lot facing the water is a major plus. It must be packed in summer, but now, its tranquility is what draws me. People come and go, enjoying the afternoon just right. 📍 Basilica of Saint Josaphat A stunning cathedral in downtown Milwaukee. In this otherwise understated city, the basilica stands out with unique charm ⛪✨. Visited on a Saturday afternoon—a service was happening, and the priest led hymns as sunset light streamed through the windows. Soothing and serene. 📍 Holy Hill - Basilica and National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians I was just looking for a hill to catch the sunset after work and stumbled upon this holy site 🧡. An off-season surprise! The orange glow on the church was breathtaking. Although the observation deck was closed, the hill wrapped in golden light had its own magic. 📍 Mary Nohl House The home of artist Mary Nohl features whimsical stone sculptures 🎨🧱. Since it’s still a private residence in a quiet neighborhood, I didn’t take photos—but right across is a gorgeous view of Lake Michigan.
