A Sinister Halloween Pop-Up Bar Returns To Brooklyn This October—Haunted Décor, Dark Drinks, & Goth Energy

If you’ve ever wished you could sip cocktails in a haunted dungeon, your spooky season dreams are coming true. The award-winning Black Lagoon pop-up —a creepy-as-hell, Halloween-themed cocktail experience—is clawing its way into Brooklyn this October, and it’s ready to scare (and delight) New Yorkers all month long. This year, Williamsburg’s Someday Bar will be completely transformed into a dark den of gothic décor, eerie lighting, and spine-chilling surprises. And of course, the cocktails will be as sinister as the setting—think: bubbling potions, smoky concoctions, and drinks designed to thrill both die-hard Halloween lovers and casual spooky-season sippers. Founded by bar masterminds Kelsey Ramage and Erin Hayes, Black Lagoon has become a cult favorite across North America. What started in 2019 at New Orleans dive bar The Dungeon has since expanded into 39 cities across the U.S., Mexico, and Canada, making it one of the largest themed pop-up bar experiences of spooky season. Lucky for us, NYC remains one of its most iconic stops. What to Expect at Black Lagoon NYC ---------------------------------- Dubbed a goth-metal Halloween pop-up, Ramage and Hayes draw inspiration from dark subcultures and cult horror classics, like Rob Zombie’s *House of 1,000 Corpses.* That’s to say you can expect the following: * 👻 Haunting décor that makes Someday Bar feel like a gothic underworld * 🍸 Spooky original cocktails designed exclusively for this year’s pop-up * 🎃 A month-long celebration where costumes are encouraged (but not required) * 💀 A chance to drink in a bar that feels straight out of a horror film While this year’s cocktail lineup is still under wraps, past menus have featured eerie, Halloween-hued creations like the Book of Blood, a crimson twist on the Mai Tai with Montelobos, Giffard Pimente, beet juice, lime, miso falernum, and absinthe, and the Satanic Panic, a bold mix of Ritual Tequila, pineapple, miso falernum, and fresh lime. Beyond the creepy décor and cocktails, Black Lagoon is all about letting your freak flag fly. Female-owned and founded, it’s a bar where everyone fits in.
