A Student Makes His Master Proud 🌟👨🍳
I’ve dined around the world—from humble street food stalls to three-Michelin-star establishments. After experiencing not just a meal, but a culinary event here, my message to Chef Vinson Petrillo is this: With the support of Tyler Chavis, you should be aiming for a Michelin star. 🌍🍽️ That said, every aspect of a top-tier restaurant must excel. While the food was extraordinary, the wine program—curated by Megan Mina—did not meet the same standard. For a place recognized by Wine Spectator, the wine experience was disappointing. A true sommelier’s touch was missing. 🍷❌ To put it plainly for those reading: Zero George ranks among my top five fine dining experiences ever. It stands alongside legends like Chicago’s Everest (now closed), Joël Robuchon in Las Vegas, and Jules Verne in Paris. A James Beard Award feels within reach; a Michelin star isn’t far behind—if the right team stays in place. 🏆✨ I highly recommend this restaurant. But to review it fairly, I didn’t just try the $145 tasting menu—I explored every extra and supplement, spending close to $500. At the base price, it’s excellent. At the full experience, it’s extraordinary. 💸💫 Having reviewed nearly every top restaurant in Charleston, I place Zero Restaurant + Bar firmly in the top three—especially when it comes to the food. #ZeroGeorge #MichelinWorthy #TopCharlestonEats #FineDining #StudentAndMaster #WineFeedback #FoodieReview
