A Unique Stay in Charleston 🏙️

This hotel offers a fun and unconventional choice for your Charleston visit. Located just west of the Savannah Highway bridge connecting to downtown, its position is a bit isolated. There aren't many amenities within easy walking distance, but the hotel itself houses a restaurant on the top floor and a small market downstairs. A major plus is the ample free parking right outside—a rarity in the area! 🚗🅿️ The building itself is the first clue you're in for a unique experience. It's a 14-story tower shaped like a silo, with two central elevators and rooms arranged in a circular pattern around them. In a classic American tradition, the hotel completely skips the 13th floor! :) The views from the top-floor restaurant—and indeed from all the upper levels—are truly fantastic and a definite highlight. 🌃✨ While the hotel advertises breakfast as included, be aware that staff still solicit "tips" each morning, even for the basic buffet service (for "service" like removing juice glasses and coffee cups). Also, unlike some other hotels, they do not provide complimentary bottled water for your room.🎶 The room itself was a mix. It was a good size with a comfortable, albeit quite high, bed and plenty of storage. A small, quiet mini-fridge was handy, though a microwave was missing. We appreciated the thoughtful touch of a nightlight. However, several details needed attention: the flimsy shower curtain flooded the bathroom floor every time, the toilet had a mind of its own with automatic flushes every few minutes, and the door to the area was noisy and hard to open and close. Our biggest surprise was a large palmetto bug (or water bug?) making its way across the floor one evening. 🪳😬 A fantastic and unexpected perk was the complimentary shuttle service to and from downtown, which runs hourly. This made exploring the city incredibly convenient! 🚌💨 All in all, this is a solid and interesting option for your stay in Charleston, especially if you value free parking and a unique building, and don't mind a few quirks.😂 #CharlestonHotel #UniqueStay #HotelReview #MixedExperience #TravelTips #FreeShuttle
