A Whole New Bagel Experience in NYC š„Æ
I originally just wanted a quick bagel to satisfy my hunger and randomly walked into PopUp Bagel. Unlike most bagel shops with endless varieties of bagels and cream cheeses (a relief for the indecisive!), they take a different approach. The staff explained they operate more like a bakeryātheir bagels arenāt sliced but served whole with a side of cream cheese for dipping. Every bagel is baked fresh and served within 5 minutes of coming out of the oven! š You can choose from 5 flavors of bagels and about 7 types of dips. ā ļø However, they only sell bags of 3 bagels with one dipāwhich almost made me walk out at first! š But let me tell you: the freshly baked bagels here are a game-changer. Unlike reheated ones, these are warm, soft on the inside, and perfectly chewy on the outsideāalmost like a fresh dinner roll with that irresistible crispy crust. Even as someone who usually eats only half a bagel, I finished one and a half in one sitting! š·ā¤ļø I paired mine with scallion cream cheeseāa generous portion that could easily accompany three bagels and still have plenty left over. It wasnāt until I left that I learned this is actually a popular spot with weekend lines. But the experience is worth itāa delicious and unique take on the classic NYC bagel.
