A Winter Warm-Up: Braised Beef Face-Off

Ever since I had the red wine-braised beef in Verona, this dish has become my ultimate comfort food. And lately, Florence has been so cold that even I, someone who usually craves ice cream, just want something warm and hearty. Today, I'm going to compare a few places in Florence that serve this dish.❤️❤️❤️ **Konnubio** 😍😍😍 🍽️ **Beef Cheek with Red Wine Sauce, Chicory, Pumpkin, and Goat Cheese Meatballs - €28** This place leans a bit more towards creative cuisine. The beef cheek has a slightly roasted, crispy exterior, and the meat is incredibly tender—falling apart without being mushy. The dish is very well done. However, the plate cools down too quickly, and the food gets cold soon after it's served, which can affect the texture. The chicory has a delightful aroma of roasted seaweed, and the sauce is smooth. The goat cheese meatballs are as expected, but the pumpkin is a bit odd—it’s not pureed or mashed as I anticipated, but rather crunchy and raw. BTW, the complimentary bread here is cold but exceptionally flavored with nutmeg, scallion oil, and walnuts. Each element is delicious. The only downside is that the crispbread isn't as crispy as it should be, but overall, it's top-notch for Florence. 😻😻😻 This is also a great spot for solo dining. It’s located around the corner from San Lorenzo, in a quiet street with a lovely atmosphere. The portions are just right for one person. #FoodieDaily #RestaurantsToReturnTo #Italy #Florence #RedWineBraisedBeef #FoodDiary #DeliciousFood #WesternCuisine #BeautifulMeals #ItalianCuisine
