Finally sharing my first German adventure from two weeks ago! A quick FlixBus ride from Maastricht (just 30 mins!) brought me to this historic gem. Compared to the Netherlands, Aachen feels more rustic and medieval—every cobblestone whispers tales of Charlemagne’s era. Though compact, its sights left me awestruck! 📍 Aachen Cathedral ⛪ Charlemagne’s final resting place left me speechless! The gold mosaic dome and kaleidoscopic stained glass are a masterclass in medieval opulence. Never seen anything so regally golden! 💎 Cathedral Treasury 👑 The bejeweled bust of Charlemagne and gem-encrusted crosses had me circling in disbelief—how did they craft such brilliance centuries ago? 🤹 Puppet Fountain (Puppenbrunnen) A quirky pitstop!
