Akari SF | Restaurant Week Review 🍱🍵

Tried their $90 Restaurant Week menu and a sukiyaki set — here’s my honest take: 1️⃣ Restaurant Week Set Included 4 courses + dessert. Portions weren’t huge, and the price felt similar to their regular set — just with added dessert 🍰. Maybe some ingredient upgrades? Not totally convinced. 2️⃣ Food Breakdown Appetizer: Pretty solid! Variety was nice — loved seeing shirako (fish milt) included 🐟. Sashimi, Grilled Fish & Tempura: Fresh but not mind-blowing. The tempura had matsutake mushroom, but its flavor was subtle… more about the prestige than taste 🍄. Dessert: Matcha cheesecake — decent finish. 3️⃣ Sukiyaki Set A bit underwhelming 😕. Not sure why it’s their signature — tasted pretty standard. Got saltier as it cooked, and the udon (which we thought was included) cost extra $6 💸. Without it, the set may not fill you up. 💭 Final Thoughts: No major surprises — and not the best value during SF Restaurant Week. As someone who doesn’t live for high-end Japanese, I likely won’t be back soon. #SFRestaurantWeek #AkariSF #JapaneseCuisine #BayAreaEats #SFFoodie #HonestReview #NotWorthTheHype
