Albuquerque | El Paisa Taqueria š®š„
Came across this place onlineārumored to be even better than tacos in Mexico City! Decided to grab lunch here right away. Arrived a little after 1 PM, just past the peak lunch hour, so it wasnāt crowded. But the queue guides at the window clearly showed how popular this place gets during rush times! Even though itās a simple counter-service spot, the lady taking orders was super friendly š„°. She gave great suggestions and patiently waited while I dug out cash (yep, itās cash only šµ). Hereās what I tried: š® Barbacoa: Slow-cooked beef cheekāso tender it melts in your mouth. š® Al Pastor: Classic marinated pork with incredible seasoning. š® Lengua: Beef tongueāsurprisingly soft, not chewy at all. š® Buche: Pork stomach marinated in local red chili. Mildly spicy with a nice biteāperfect for those who enjoy gentle heat. Also couldnāt resist trying: š® Frijol con Queso Burrito: Beans and melted cheese stretched like chocolateāso smooth and satisfying. š® Quesadillas con Carne Asada: Grilled steak pieces with cheese. You can order one or two, and with beans/cheese and avocado salad, itās a full meal šÆš§. The flavors were absolutely amazing! After ordering at the window, you just wait for your number to be called. The March sun in Albuquerque was warm and bright āļøāI enjoyed my meal on the patio, totally content.
