If you’ve already seen the castle at Disney 🏰 and visited Harry Potter at Universal ⚡, why not take a quiet trip to Gatorland for an educational alligator experience? Compared to the hustle and bustle of Disney and Universal Studios, this place is more like a serene natural paradise 🌿. Visit Date: June 7, 2024 Duration: 4 hours (10:30 am - 2:30 pm) Opening Hours: 10 am - 6 pm Transportation: Less than 20 minutes drive from Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Studios 🚗 Costs: Admission: Adults $34.99 ($17.5); Children $24.99 ($12.5) Before June 30, 2024, Florida residents get a 50% discount, a Florida ID or local lease is required. Suddenly, living in Florida feels so lucky with so many attractions offering discount deals 🎉 GatorLand, a park themed around gators, is of course home to alligators 🐊 (with various species). There’s an alligator that has been here since the park opened in 1949. In addition to gators, there are flamingos 🦩, servals 🐆, bobcats 🐱, snakes 🐍, goats 🐐, parrots 🦜, emus 🐦, cows 🐄, capybaras 🐹, tortoises 🐢, and more. You can buy small fish to feed the alligators 🎣. There are three shows daily; we watched two of them, one about snakes 🐍 and the other about alligators 🐊. Each show includes some educational insights 📚. Other Activities: ZipLine: $69.99 for all day, supposedly one of The World’s Top 10 🏅. Friends who want to try it, don’t forget to wear sports shoes 👟! Off-Road Vehicle: $12 for a 15-minute full ride, climbing small hills, crossing little puddles, and playing in ponds with alligators 🚜. Swamp: Extremely tranquil, with wooden bridges where you often see small animals 🌲. A landscape designer from CT spent 13 years recording and managing FL’s wetland ecosystems, publishing her findings in “The Everglades: River of Grass” in 1947 📖.
