Amsterdam | A Small Shock of Science and Art 🌐
🎨Amsterdam's city center is home to many small museums! This time, I passed by one called Body Worlds and, seeing the poster, I decided to buy a ticket on the spot. It's a four-story exhibition that introduces the human body from head to toe, themed around the pursuit of health and happiness, and it's interactive with body tests at the end. 🎨I initially thought the specimens inside might be a bit scary, but they weren't at all. All specimens are accompanied by detailed explanations, making it suitable for people of all ages to learn from. 🎨The staff said that there are over 200 human specimens on display, all voluntarily donated by the deceased before their death. These specimens have undergone a special process called plastination, which perfectly preserves muscle tissue and fibers, and each specimen takes over a year to prepare. 🎨I believe this is a museum worth visiting. Originally, this could be seen as a very medical and somewhat dull topic. However, the curators have balanced science, art, and even philosophy very well, allowing visitors with no medical knowledge to immerse themselves in the experience. 🎨Classic philosophical questions are also interwoven throughout the exhibition. For example, whether a person can feel happiness is determined 50% by genes, 40% by thoughts, and only 10% by the environment. 🎨There's also the continuous pursuit of money, fame, and material desires, but ultimately, humans are all chasing one goal: happiness. Each floor and every organ can lead to a philosophical topic, and you can tell the curatorial team has put a lot of thought into it. So this is not just a place for curiosity but also a unique space that combines educational, scientific, and artistic values. It allows us to understand our bodies more scientifically, embrace a positive attitude towards life, and generate new thoughts on health and happiness. ⏰ Hours: Daily from 9:00 to 20:00 🎫 Admission: Adult tickets are 22.5€ per person 🚶 Visit Duration: Approximately 2 hours #ArtInMuseums #FeelThePowerOfMuseums #Exhibitions #UniqueArt #Netherlands #Amsterdam #Europe #AmsterdamExploration #NetherlandsExploration
