Amsterdam | Day 2: LEGO Town + Windmill Village
🚆 Transport Guide Took a bus from Hilton Hotel to Central Station, then bought a round-trip train ticket (€9) to Zaandam (LEGO Town) and Zaanse Schans (Windmill Village). Pro Tip: Buy tickets via the NS App (cheaper than at the station). Total train ride: ~30 minutes. 📍 Stop 1: LEGO Town Station: Zaandam Highlights: LEGO Wall 📸: spot—fun for photos! LEGO-Themed Streets 🛍️: Feels like a regular shopping area. Quick browse recommended. Verdict: Small town worth a 30-minute stop for pics, but not a long stay. 📍 Stop 2: Zaanse Schans Windmill Village 🌾🌬️ Station: Zaandijk Zaanse Schans Duration: 2-3 hours Activities: Windmill Photos 📷 Windmill Museum 🏡 (ticket required) Local Workshops: Cheese 🧀 & clogs 👟 Riverside Walk Food: Pancake restaurant with gorgeous views ! Tips: Mostly free entry (except museums). Visit on a sunny day—bring a scarf/cap if windy! 🎨 Vibe Check: Zaanse Schans is like stepping into a Dutch painting 🖼️: Blue skies, spinning windmills, glittering lakes, and fairy-tale cottages. Fresh grass + cheese scent in the air—pure magic! 🌆 Return to Amsterdam Headed back to Central Station for shopping along the canals. Dinner at Yuan Ji Chuan Chuan Xiang (Chengdu-style hotpot) – €80 for two (see my foodie post for details!). ✅ Final Thoughts A relaxed but fulfilling 2-day trip—everything we wanted to see! 🌟 #StudyAbroad #Travel #Netherlands #Amsterdam #Europe
