An Amazing Ferry Ride to the Island & Back! 🚢✨

We purchased tickets in advance for the 8:50 AM tour and arrived early to get a head start. When we reached the pier, there wasn’t anyone outside directing people, but we simply joined a line—and it turned out we were in the right place! Boarding was quick and smooth, and the ferry departed right on time. The boat wasn’t too crowded, with plenty of seating for everyone. The lower deck is enclosed and offers snacks for purchase, while the upper two decks are open-air, perfect for sightseeing. We chose to sit on the top level, and on the way to the island, we enjoyed stunning views of the city, the bridges, and Alcatraz. 🌁🌉🏙️ The tour on the island, organized by State Parks, was excellent—highly informative and thorough. By the time it ended, I felt like I hadn’t missed a thing. We were also free to wander around at our own pace. After about two hours, we were ready to head back. Ferries run approximately every half hour, so we didn’t have to wait long when we were ready to leave. ⛴️⏱️ The entire experience felt seamless and thoroughly enjoyable.
