After a wonderful Sunday matinee, we made our way to The Independent for an early dinner—and what a perfect choice it turned out to be! The vibe was relaxed yet full of character, and it felt like the ideal spot to unwind and reflect on the performance while enjoying some truly remarkable food. We each opted for the $40 three-course prix-fixe menu, and it delivered in every way: Appetizers: The Honey Chili Brussels Sprouts were a sweet, spicy, and crispy revelation 🌿🍯, and the Sticky Tofu was wonderfully savory with a perfect glaze—a great start that had us excited for what was next! Mains: The Roasted Chicken was tender, juicy, and full of flavor 🍗, while the New York Steak Frites arrived cooked perfectly medium-rare, with golden, salty fries we couldn’t get enough of. 🥩🍟 Desserts: We ended with the Pumpkin Cheesecake 🎃🍰 and the Chocolate Soufflé 🍫⚡—both were absolute showstoppers! The cheesecake was creamy and spiced just right, and the soufflé was light, rich, and deeply satisfying. Our server, Gustavo, was fantastic—attentive, warm, and full of great energy.
