📍 Annapolis Day Trip | British-Style Town + City Walk

This morning, we drove to Annapolis bright and early, full of confidence. We arrived right at 11 AM at the famed U.S. Naval Academy, only to be stopped at the entrance… 😅 Turns out, I didn’t bring a "valid ID" like a driver’s license—so no entry allowed! 💔💔💔 🌟 Pro Tip: The Naval Academy is a military facility, and passports won’t work for entry. Tourists, take note! ⚠️ So, we quickly adjusted our mood and decided to just wander around downtown Annapolis—and unexpectedly stumbled upon the most delightful City Walk under the sunny skies. ☀️ Red-brick streets, colorful wooden houses, a charming little harbor, and flags fluttering in the breeze… It honestly reminded me so much of Southampton, UK! 🛍️ City Walk Highlights: Main Street is packed with cute craft shops, vintage bookstores, and cozy cafés. The stretch along Maryland Ave has such a lovely vibe—like a quaint British alleyway. Ego Alley by the harbor is perfect for sunbathing, watching sailboats, and just daydreaming… 🍴 Hit & Miss Lunch Spots: We tried the highly recommended Mason’s Lobster Rolls for lunch 🦞… Honestly? A bit underwhelming. The bread was dry, the lobster wasn’t juicy, and it was served too cold. 🤦‍♀️ But then we discovered The Big Cheese , a no-frills old-school sandwich shop. The name might be simple, but their Classic Salami Sandwich was surprisingly tasty! After lunch, we strolled around a bit more before heading off to our next destination. Sure, missing the Naval Academy was a bummer, but the sunshine and the streets were so beautiful—it ended up feeling like a leisurely British-style mini-holiday in the U.S. 🇺🇸✨🇬🇧 👜 Who’s This Trip For? ✔️ Those who love City Walk vibes and European-style towns ✔️ A relaxed, stroller/pregnancy-friendly short getaway ✔️ Just 1 hour from DC—perfect for a weekend day trip #SlowTravel #CityWalkDiaries #Annapolis #DMVTravel #DMVWeekend #Maryland #MarylandTrave
