๐๏ธThe Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation is the most important expansion project of the American Museum of Natural History in years, and it has been open to the public since May 4th. The Gilder Center was designed by Studio Gang, an international firm led by Jeanne Gang, and this is the largest public project the firm has ever undertaken. ๐ Announced in 2014, the Gilder Center covers 230,000 square feet and cost $465 million. It brings new exhibition, educational, collection, and research spaces to the museum. ๐๏ธFor the first time, it also brings important functions that were previously behind the scenes to the public, allowing visitors to gain a new understanding of the museum's rich collections and active scientific research. ๐ฟ From gooood ๐๏ธ #ArchitecturalDesign #Architecture #PlanningAndDesign ๐๏ธ
