Around Berlin, the Witches' Christmas Market ๐งโโ๏ธ is a must-visit ๐
Harz is truly a treasure trove of a region. I posted a guide in September about hiking in Harz and taking a steam train ๐ ride! I didn't expect that Harz in winter is also very much worth visiting! You absolutely must go! Wernigerode is also a hidden gem in this area, and the Christmas market is super fun ๐ ๐Transportation: The HBX is included in the 49โฌ ticket. Check the schedule with DB, no need to transfer, it's a direct train from Berlin, taking about 2.30 hours, depending on where in Berlin you board. ๐Highlights: A medieval witch town, so witch elements are everywhere, even the streetlights are witch-themed ๐ Love it. Wernigerode Castle ๐ฐ, to be honest, the castle itself is better viewed in spring, summer, or autumn! But we were super lucky to see a ๐ rainbow, so it was incredibly beautiful. Next to the castle, there's a small zoo where you can see elk ๐ซ. At a dessert shop in the old town, I had the richest hot chocolate I've ever tasted, and they also have a mulled wine flavor ๐ ICE Cafe Venezia Eiscafรฉ Venezia, Breite Str. 34, 38855 Wernigerode, right next to Marktplatz. The Christmas market runs through the entire old town, very beautiful and distinctive, looking great both during the day and at night. In summary, it's very suitable for a Day Trip. Please grab your 49โฌ ticket and go quickly. #Daily #Berlin #Christmas #Market #BerlinLife #BerlinChristmas #WeekendGetaway #MerryChristmas #Witches
