August Round-Up: Delicious Eats in San Jose (Part 1) 🍽️✨
CA Bakehouse 🌟🌟🌟 An Asian bakery in Little Saigon known for inventing pandan waffles🧇. The durian egg tart and original mochi cake were tasty, but the pandan cake and cream puff were a bit too sweet for me. Overall, it met expectations. Palmetto Superfoods 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Found this place packed with a trendy crowd at Westfield and had to try it! They specialize in healthy açaí bowls with options like oat, chia pudding, or coconut jelly bases. Super fresh, loaded with toppings—will definitely be back! Homage Pizza 🌟🌟🌟🌟 A paradise for Detroit-style deep-dish lovers! Thick, crispy crust, generous meat, and rich ricotta cheese🤤. Topped with scallions, tomatoes, and basil sauce to cut through the richness—a once-a-month indulgence. Dzui‘s Cake and Desserts 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 My current favorite dessert spot in the Bay Area! Durian lovers, this is your heaven. I devoured half of their durian-pandan cake on the spot and finished the rest at home 🍰💚. No regrets—every calorie was worth it: fresh durian purée, creamy durian frosting, and soft pandan sponge cake. Still dreaming about it! They also offer durian milk tea, pork floss buns, mooncakes, garlic cheese bread, durian mille crepe, mango parfait…I’m coming back to try everything! Maggiano’s Little Italy My go-to chain restaurant now—even better than Cheesecake Factory! Must-order: Rigatoni D🍝, cooked in Marsala wine and cream sauce—rich, smooth, and packed with meat. The appetizer platter is solid too, especially the cheesy fried zucchini. Mariscos Costa Alegre 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 OMG!!! The best Mexican seafood in San Jose—I go every week! Their sizzling stone pot seafood in creamy sauce is a must-try. Even the sushi fusion dishes are amazing. Known as the "Mexican Haidilao" because of the lively birthday celebrations with live music and staff hype—it’s a vibe! A Mexican friend said it feels just like being in Mexico 🇲🇽. Almost like a vacation! Crumbl Cookie 🌟🌟 A viral spot that rotates four new cookie flavors every two weeks 🍪—clever FOMO marketing. Their cakes are better than the cookies (still very sweet, classic American dessert style). Not really my thing. Also tried: The Boiling Crab🦀 Sweetgreen’s beef bowl🥩 Fish tacos🌮 BJ’s Pizookie🍪🍦 All were pretty good! No space for details though 😉 #SanJoseEats #BayAreaFood #FoodieDiary #DessertLover #MexicanFood #BayAreaEats
