August Roundup: Must-Try Food in San Jose (Part 2) ๐ฝ๏ธโจ
10 Butchers ๐๐๐ Touted as the ultimate Korean BBQ experience? The unlimited side dishes and bibimbap are delicious, but the value is just okayโ$100+ per person, and the meat quality and portions arenโt as good as other spots. Fogo de Chao ๐๐๐๐ My go-to place during that time of the month for an iron boost! All-you-can-eat Brazilian BBQ carved right at your table. Several meats and grilled items are absolutely tasty. The Midwife and The Baker ๐๐๐๐ Finally tried the best croissants in the South Bay! The almond croissant is a must-tryโeven my baker friend praised its perfecttopping. The cardamom croissant was also a surprise hit, especially paired with Peets' new pumpkin latte ๐โ. Only downside: bought it at the farmers market and it was already cold. Gotta wake up earlier for a fresh batch! Must Be Thai ๐๐๐๐๐ A local restaurant owner friend highly recommended the spicy pork belly (far right on the menu)โand it literally made my eyes widen! Crispy fried pork rib stir-fried with aromatic Thai spicesโrich, flavorful, and not greasy. Best stir-fry Iโve had in the Bay Area so far. The tom yum fried rice and boat noodles are also great. Eataly ๐๐๐ A bit disappointed with the packaged tiramisuโฆ The mascarpone was overly heavy, and the ladyfingers needed more coffee soak. Overall a bit dry. Will try the fresh version from the restaurant next time. The pistachio cream in a tube, though? Super nutty and perfect for making Dubai-style chocolate! Dish n Dash ๐๐๐๐ Modern Middle Eastern cuisine. Their creamy chicken rice blew my mind! Rich with nuts and spices, the sauce wasnโt heavy at allโit felt nourishing and grounding. Left me feeling energized ๐ช. Dzuiโs Cake and Dessert ๐๐๐๐๐ I canโt stop raving about this placeโฆ Weekly durian milk tea is a ritual. Their new snow fungus taro dessert is also amazingโso comforting and healthy-feeling. La Caphe ๐๐๐๐ How did I only try Vietnamese egg coffee and sea salt coffee now?! So much better than salty cream foam milk tea ๐ฅค๐. Pho Ha Noi ๐๐๐๐ Authentic Vietnamese food recommended by a Vietnamese friend, located right in Little Saigon. The beef rib pho and mixed beef pho are delicious and generous in portion. The roasted duck sticky rice and Lรบc Lแบฏc beef rice are also must-tries. Gyukaku Japanese BBQ ๐๐๐๐๐ A garlic loverโs dreamโค๏ธ. After trying over a dozen garlic noodles in the Bay, this remains my top choice. Wide noodles full of egg flavor, sizzling in a hot stone pot, coated in garlic butter sauceโfragrant but not spicy, super smooth and satisfying. My mouth is watering just typing this ๐. Trader Joeโs Chocolate Babka ๐๐๐๐๐ TJโs has lots of good stuff, but even with the high calories, this chocolate bread is a must-buy. Highly recommended for cinnamon roll and chocolate lovers! #BayAreaFood #SanJoseEats
