August Roundup: Must-Try Food in San Jose (Part 2) ๐Ÿฝ๏ธโœจ

10 Butchers ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ Touted as the ultimate Korean BBQ experience? The unlimited side dishes and bibimbap are delicious, but the value is just okayโ€”$100+ per person, and the meat quality and portions arenโ€™t as good as other spots. Fogo de Chao ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ My go-to place during that time of the month for an iron boost! All-you-can-eat Brazilian BBQ carved right at your table. Several meats and grilled items are absolutely tasty. The Midwife and The Baker ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ Finally tried the best croissants in the South Bay! The almond croissant is a must-tryโ€”even my baker friend praised its perfecttopping. The cardamom croissant was also a surprise hit, especially paired with Peets' new pumpkin latte ๐ŸŽƒโ˜•. Only downside: bought it at the farmers market and it was already cold. Gotta wake up earlier for a fresh batch! Must Be Thai ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ A local restaurant owner friend highly recommended the spicy pork belly (far right on the menu)โ€”and it literally made my eyes widen! Crispy fried pork rib stir-fried with aromatic Thai spicesโ€”rich, flavorful, and not greasy. Best stir-fry Iโ€™ve had in the Bay Area so far. The tom yum fried rice and boat noodles are also great. Eataly ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ A bit disappointed with the packaged tiramisuโ€ฆ The mascarpone was overly heavy, and the ladyfingers needed more coffee soak. Overall a bit dry. Will try the fresh version from the restaurant next time. The pistachio cream in a tube, though? Super nutty and perfect for making Dubai-style chocolate! Dish n Dash ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ Modern Middle Eastern cuisine. Their creamy chicken rice blew my mind! Rich with nuts and spices, the sauce wasnโ€™t heavy at allโ€”it felt nourishing and grounding. Left me feeling energized ๐Ÿ’ช. Dzuiโ€˜s Cake and Dessert ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ I canโ€™t stop raving about this placeโ€ฆ Weekly durian milk tea is a ritual. Their new snow fungus taro dessert is also amazingโ€”so comforting and healthy-feeling. La Caphe ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ How did I only try Vietnamese egg coffee and sea salt coffee now?! So much better than salty cream foam milk tea ๐Ÿฅค๐Ÿ’›. Pho Ha Noi ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ Authentic Vietnamese food recommended by a Vietnamese friend, located right in Little Saigon. The beef rib pho and mixed beef pho are delicious and generous in portion. The roasted duck sticky rice and Lรบc Lแบฏc beef rice are also must-tries. Gyukaku Japanese BBQ ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ A garlic loverโ€™s dreamโค๏ธ. After trying over a dozen garlic noodles in the Bay, this remains my top choice. Wide noodles full of egg flavor, sizzling in a hot stone pot, coated in garlic butter sauceโ€”fragrant but not spicy, super smooth and satisfying. My mouth is watering just typing this ๐Ÿ˜‹. Trader Joeโ€™s Chocolate Babka ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ TJโ€™s has lots of good stuff, but even with the high calories, this chocolate bread is a must-buy. Highly recommended for cinnamon roll and chocolate lovers! #BayAreaFood #SanJoseEats
