Introduction 👍 - 🏞️ Hallstatt Known as a postcard from heaven, one of the world's most beautiful towns. - 🖼️ Gosau A hidden gem, dubbed a dreamy hillside in Austria. - 🏔️ St. Wolfgang Majestic and spectacular, part of the Alpine range. 2. Accommodation 🏠 - Suggested stay in the small town of Bad Ischl (more accurately a village). I stayed near the Bad Ischl train station. 1. Convenient transportation: about 40 minutes by bus to the three major lake districts, direct trains to Vienna, and bus 150 to the Salzburg city center, avoiding the hassle of moving luggage around. 2. Affordable lodging prices, about a third of the cost compared to Hallstatt. 3. More facilities than in the lake district, including supermarkets, laundries, and Chinese restaurants. 3. Itinerary and Transportation 🚌 - Day 1: Hallstatt + Gosau 🌟 Both are small and close by. It's recommended to visit Hallstatt early in the morning for better light and fewer people after 9 AM; visit Gosau in the afternoon. 👣 Transportation 1️⃣ Bad Ischl ➡️ Hallstatt (about 40 minutes) Take bus 541 from Bad Ischl, most trips require a transfer at Hallstatt Gosaumuhle station to bus 543 to Hallstatt Lahn (Seelande) station, right at the entrance to Hallstatt. 2️⃣ Hallstatt ➡️ Gosau (about 25 minutes) At the Hallstatt entrance bus stop, take bus 544, transfer at Hallstatt Gosaumuhle station to bus 541 to Gosau Abzw Pass Gschutt station. 3️⃣ Gosau ➡️ Bad Ischl Take bus 542 back. - Day 2: St. Wolfgang 🌟 Morning lake cruise, then explore the town and have lunch.
