Autumn at New York's Swan Castle Truly Lives Up to the Hype! 🥹🥹🥹
Last weekend, I finally visited the long-awaited Mountain House, and the autumn colors here completely blew me away! It fulfilled almost all my fantasies about fall: a majestic castle, serene lakes, deep canyons, winding boardwalks, and rolling mountains. The occasional rays of "Jesus light" piercing through the clouds added an extra touch of magic and mystery to the scene ✨. This stunning Victorian-style castle, built in 1869, also functions as a resort hotel. Nestled within the Mohonk Preserve in the Hudson Valley region, the castle is beautifully situated with mountains and water surrounding it. From the hilltops, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the castle and the vast Hudson River plains 🌄. For those with enough time (and budget 💰💰), I highly recommend staying overnight at the castle to experience its enchanting beauty under the night sky and through the morning mist. Alternatively, you can opt for a day pass like I did, perfect for a round trip in one day! I went for the classic $35 day pass, parked at the Mohonk Mountain House Gate House, and enjoyed a lovely 40-minute hike up to the castle 🚶♀️🍂. Let me highlight some must-capture photo spots for your visit: - Images 1, 2, 3, & 5: Huguenot Dr Boardwalk overlooking the castle 🏰 - Images 4 & 7: Mohonk Garden 🌸 - Images 6 & 9: Lake Shore Path along the lakeside 🌊 - Image 8: Mohonk Sky Top—climb up for sweeping views of the castle and surrounding mountains ⛰️ Address: 1000 Mountain Rest Rd, New Paltz, NY, 12561 So, what are you waiting for? Grab your camera, call your friends, and immerse yourself in this autumn paradise! Have you been here before, or do you have other favorite fall destinations?
