Avoid the Overpriced Seafood Rice at Cliffside Town Restaurant

📍 Restaurante Azenhas do Mar – The seafood rice (€120 for 2 people) is not as amazing as some posts claim. It’s just an average tomato-based rice dish, not packed with seafood in every bite. The value for money is terrible—there’s hardly any premium seafood, mostly just mussels, clams, shrimp, one small lobster tail, one large prawn, and a lot of rice. If you haven’t been yet, save your money for better food elsewhere in Portugal. 👍 Also, check your bill carefully—the waiter seemed bad at math. When I was splitting the bill with a friend, he asked if I minded paying a little extra to "make it easier." I agreed (thinking it would be a small rounding difference), but he rounded up the entire bill for convenience. It was only a few euros, but still… Why not just be upfront and ask for a tip instead? That said, the cliffside town is absolutely stunning and worth a visit. The restaurant offers a perfect, comfortable sunset view, and their Sangria Sparkling Wine (even for non-drinkers like me) was quite nice. Just skip the seafood rice. (Oh, and make a reservation—I went at 4 PM, and it was fully booked, so I had to reserve a table for 6:30 PM.) Pro tip: Bring some snacks if you're heading to Cabo da Roca (Roca Cape) or Boca do Inferno (Hell’s Mouth)—there are hardly any food options nearby, and you’ll likely need to take a taxi. A little something to munch on will help! #StudyAbroadTravel #Portugal #CliffsideTown #RocaCape #HellsMouth
