Bank of Japan Osaka Branch ๐ฆ
The Bank of Japan Osaka Branch is located in Nakanoshima, northern Osaka City. ๐๐บ Designed by Kingo Tatsuno, the architect behind Tokyo Station and the Central Public Hall, it was completed in 1903. The building emulates the architectural style of the National Bank of Belgium, featuring a beautiful green dome and is a typical two-story Western-style structure made of stone. ๐ข๐ Since ancient times, this area has evolved into the economic hub of Osaka, and the old building of the Bank of Japan stands out with its dignified and solemn presence. ๐๐บ During the Edo period, this site was originally a granary for the Shimabara Domain. In the early Meiji era, it became the residence of Goto Shojiro, a leader in the Kansai financial community. In the Showa era, due to the expansion of business space, the high-rise building was comprehensively renovated, ultimately preserving three exterior walls and important interior sections. ๐ข๐ #JapanTravelogue
