Bar Review | New York's Patent Pending 🌟
📍 Patent Pending 📝I visited this place on a Wednesday, and it was great to see such a diverse crowd—about half of the people there were of Asian descent. It’s moments like these that make you truly appreciate New York’s incredible diversity! 🌍 During the day, Patent Pending transforms into Patent Coffee. I’ll definitely have to stop by next time I’m in the area. The bar has about ten seats at the counter and four booths in the back. The bartender on duty today was Elizabeth. 🥂 🌟 New York bars are definitely a notch above those in Chicago. Even the stirrers are made of clear ice. When using a jigger, the bartenders hold two at once—it’s very American. But the shaking technique is quite meticulous. 📝There’s a vigorous two-stage shake for aeration, and also a casual mix where they just pour it over ice directly into the glass. I heard that people from Maker’s Mark frequent this place and have a great relationship with the bar. If you’re interested in networking or have friends in the industry, this is a great spot to hang out. 🍸 The cocktail menu is themed around patents, divided into sections like Vibration, Frequency, and Energy. Looking at the menu, you can’t help but think of the era when inventors were all the rage. 🌟 The print-and-manuscript style of the menu really ties in with the name Patent Pending—reflecting both the application process and the creative journey. The drinks themselves are thoughtfully designed, using different ingredients to deconstruct classic cocktail recipes. 📝 #BarAdventures #NYCDiversity #CocktailInnovation 🌆
