Beautiful & Historic, But Too Short! ⏳🏰
The ferry ride to the fort was a pleasant experience 🚤, but once we arrived, we only had about an hour to explore—definitely not enough time to see everything in depth! I really wish we could have stayed longer to fully appreciate the history and atmosphere. 😔📜 Despite the short visit, we had a wonderful and informative chat with one of the rangers, Ranger Shelby! 🌟 She shared fascinating details that even my history-buff husband didn’t know. For example, did you know that enslaved laborers handmade over 9 million bricks for this fort? You can still see their fingerprints pressed into some of the bricks today. 🧱✋ Another surprising fact: the fort was originally three stories high! 🏰💡 It’s a place full of stories and significance—if only the schedule allowed more time to take it all in. #HistoricFort #ShortVisit #DeepHistory #TravelTips #HiddenStories
