Big Island (Kona + Hilo) Food Highlights 🍣☕️
Not exactly ” material, but these are the ones that didn’t disappoint — especially if you love seafood and sashimi! (My partner isn’t a seafood person, so they weren’t as impressed 😅) 1️⃣ Suisan Poke 🐟 Fresh, mild, and not overly salty — a great intro to poke for those new to raw fish! Even people who usually avoid raw seafood might find this approachable. 2️⃣ Pau Hana Poke 🌊 More flavorful than Suisan, with a slightly saltier profile. Might be too intense for light eaters, but delicious if you enjoy bold seasoning! Again — not for raw fish newbies. 3️⃣ Big Island Abalone 🧈 So fresh and satisfying! Served grilled with garlic butter dipping oil — highly recommend going for the large portion. The raw version is also worth trying — crisp and clean in texture. 4️⃣ Hico Coffee 💜 Tried their popular Ube Latte — a solid choice! Not too sweet, with a subtle taro flavor. A cozy drink stop between exploring. We also sampled some other often-recommended spots, but taste really is personal. You never know what you’ll love until you try! 🤷♀️✨ #BigIslandEats #KonaFood #HiloFood #HawaiiFoodie #PokeLove #BigIslandAbalone #HawaiiEats
