Birmingham One-Day Trip Guide for UK International Students

✈️ Transportation: It’s recommended to arrive at Birmingham New Street Station 🚉, as it’s very convenient and close to all the major attractions. 🏰 Attractions: Recommended Route: Bullring Shopping Centre → St. Martin’s Church → Chinatown → Peaky Blinders Wall → Victoria Square → Birmingham Library 1️⃣ Bullring Shopping Centre 🛍️ Just a 5-minute walk from New Street Station, the Bullring is one of Birmingham’s largest shopping centers and the commercial heart of the city. It houses major brands, restaurants, and leisure spots—a paradise for shoppers! Even if you’re not buying anything, the architecture is worth seeing, especially Selfridges, with its iconic futuristic silver exterior—perfect for photos! 📸 2️⃣ St. Martin’s Church ⛪ Right next to the Bullring, this is one of Birmingham’s oldest churches and a landmark in the city center. The exterior is solemn and grand, while the interior is simple yet beautiful—a must-visit! 3️⃣ Chinatown 🥢 A 10-minute walk from St. Martin’s Church leads you to Birmingham’s Chinatown. I tried "Uncle Liu’s Braised Beef Noodles" 🍜—great ambiance, and the braised beef brisket noodles (£10.50) were delicious! The broth was rich and flavorful, the meat portions generous, and the noodles had a perfect chew. Can’t wait to go back and try the braised pork intestine noodles next time! 4️⃣ Peaky Blinders Wall 🎩 On the way to Victoria Square, you’ll pass this iconic mural. The hit TV series Peaky Blinders is set in Birmingham, depicting the city’s early 20th-century gangster history. A cool photo spot! 5️⃣ Victoria Square 🎄 The heart of Birmingham’s Christmas Market! 🎅 The square is packed with stalls selling German crafts, Christmas decorations, grilled sausages, and mulled wine. My friends and I tried hot chocolate with churros—decent but worth a taste! 6️⃣ Birmingham Library 📚 This modern library has a unique design and is one of the UK’s largest and most innovative public libraries. Don’t miss the rooftop viewing platform for a panoramic city view! 🌆 At night, there are small amusement rides nearby: Ferris Wheel 🎡 – £7 (with student card) Swing Ride – £8 Pendulum Ride – £8 #Birmingham #ChristmasMarket #StudyAbroadTravel #UKStudyAbroad ✨
