Birmingham Outskirts Visit | Gloucester Cathedral
Take a 47-minute ride from the University of Birmingham station to Gloucester, then a 10-minute walk to the cathedral. There's no admission fee; entry is free, but you can voluntarily donate a minimum of Β£5π· at the entrance. The architecture is grand, and it takes about 1 hour to visit. It's a filming location for Harry Potter, and the souvenir shop at the entrance has some Harry Potter merchandise. As Christmas approaches, they also sell many crystal ornaments for Christmas trees. The stained glass on the walls is incredibly beautiful, and the light reflected on the pillars is stunningly gorgeous. There's a small garden in the middle of the building, but one wall is under maintenance and not very photogenic. The interior corridors are very nice, with a strong medieval European feel that's great for photos. Friends in Birmingham and Bristol should visit if they have the time. Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 10am-5pm Sunday 12pm-5pm (There's an hour-long evensong event on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, during which the prayer area and the royal tombs will be temporarily closed to visitors). #UK #BirminghamDayTrip #HarryPotterFilmingLocation
