Birmingham Surroundings | Blists Hill Victorian Town

Blists Hill Victorian Town is located in the south of Telford and is a living museum built around the theme of the Victorian era. From the entrance of the attraction to the village, you need to climb two flights of stairs. The stairs are quite dim, so when you step outside and see the town in daylight, it feels like you’ve time-traveled. 🕰️ Inside the park, there’s a bank where you can purchase 19th-century banknotes and spend them in town (though you can also use modern pounds). 🏦 Every shop, house, restaurant, and school has NPCs dressed in period costumes. They’ll chat with you and introduce various historical facts. There was an old man cooking in his house, and some ladies were asking him about recipes and how to prepare the dishes. 🍳 There’s also a pub where you can hear NPCs singing from time to time. These performances draw large crowds, making it hard to get a good view. However, you can order some beer and food and relax at the outdoor tables. 🍻 The photography studio is quite interesting. When I walked in out of curiosity, a large family in period costumes was preparing for a group photo. If you’re interested, you can try dressing up and taking a photo yourself. 📸 Overall, it’s a really interesting place. It feels like a smaller version of Universal Studios set in the Victorian era. Although it’s not very big and there aren’t many entertainment facilities, the immersion is quite strong. You can also enjoy 19th-century popular candies, bread, and even buy soap, perfume, and breath mints that the queen used to love. It’s truly educational and fun. 🌟 After leaving the town, you can drive to the Iron Bridge to enjoy the scenery. Take a walk by the bridge, shop for vintage items in nearby stores, or just sit by the roadside and enjoy a cup of coffee☕️. It’s a pretty relaxing way to spend the day. 😌 #uklife #birminghamsurroundings #ukweekendtrip #victorianera #retro town #telford #ukweekendcheckin #ukweekenddestinations #birmingham #hiddenukgems
