Birthday Celebration 🎂 & Couple’s Date Night Restaurant 🥂
📍 The Ivy on the Square 💭 Locations across the UK Visited just before Christmas, the decor was super festive Perfect for birthdays 🎂 or couple’s dates ❤️ The overall food was average, but the highlight is definitely the photo ops 📷 ▪️ Fish & Chips 💰16.95£ ↳ The portion was huge, very filling 🥔 The chips are thick potato chunks Crispy and still tasty even when cold If you like ketchup, remember to ask for it separately 🐟 The fried fish was quite average A bit greasy and heavy after a while Tasted similar to the small joints I’ve tried in the Highlands I’m not a fan of the tartar sauce because it has some odd ingredients The small dish of green stuff tasted like beans, not very nice either ▪️ Brick Roasted Chicken 💰17.95£ ↳ A friend ordered the roasted chicken leg The meat was tender, the sauce had a truffle flavor They highly recommend this dish 🌟 ▪️ Wild Mushroom and Truffle Linguine 💰16.95£ ↳ Another friend’s order, the truffle pasta I found it a bit average after a taste The flat noodles were too soft for my liking ▪️ Aromatic Curry 💰23.95£ ↳ A friend’s curry choice They said the curry was decent, but the rice was not well cooked It’s fun to DIY mix the rice and curry when it’s served on a large empty plate haha ▪️ Crème Brûlée 💰9.5£ ↳ So creamy and delicious! Unlike pudding, it’s more like a thick custard Served with blueberry sauce and shortbread The shortbread was the best I’ve ever had I really wanted to ask where they buy it The dessert was more refined and tastier than all the main courses ⚠️ Recommendation: Make a reservation 🎂 If it’s for a birthday, you can note it when booking They’ll provide a small cake #Tonightsdinnerlookslike #DiningExploration #WeekendPlans #JoinMeForADiningAdventure #Edinburgh #EdinburghUniversity #EdinburghDiningExploration #100DiningExperiencesProject
