Bludorn Restaurant – A Stunning New American Fusion Experience! 🍽️✨

Bludorn had been sitting in my bookmarks for ages, and after work on Friday, I decided it was time for a treat—so off I went! 🚗💨 After all, it’s a Michelin-recommended restaurant—how could I resist? 🥖 Complimentary Bread – I wasn’t going to have any, but the server brought it over before I could say no… and it was surprisingly delicious! The best part was the frosted cheese spread (I think it was cheese?)—it melted slightly when spread on the warm bread, creating a wonderful texture! 🧀🔥 🍹 Cocktail: Apple Bottom Sage – Apple juice base with a sage foam layer—sweet with a hint of tartness, and not too strong on the alcohol. Really refreshing! 🍎🌿 🦪 Appetizer: Oysters – We tried Virginia and Alabama oysters. The Alabama ones were so big and fresh we ordered six more! The house-made hot sauce was tasty but a bit overpowering for the oysters. The kitchen also sent out a complimentary fried meatball before the main course—not sure what was inside, but it was a nice little bite! 🥣 🐙 Grilled Octopus Leg – Crispy outside, tender inside—so good! Served with chermoula sauce (parsley and cilantro) and a spicy mayo-like drizzle. The side wasn’t mashed potatoes but white bean purée with olive oil and herbs—smooth, silky, and slightly stretchy! 🥔💚 🦆 The Star: Duck Dish – Confit duck leg + slow-cooked duck breast with crispy skin. The fat under the skin had melted perfectly—crispy, aromatic, almost like Peking duck! 🦆🍯 Glazed with a sweet honey sauce and served with a rich duck jus. Paired with spiced dried fruit rice and a duck liver raspberry sauce (I think?)—absolutely satisfying! 🍝 Crawfish Pasta – Pretty basic, not memorable. There were chunks of something that tasted like cooked pear—still not sure what they were. Portion was small too. 🍐😅 🍮 Dessert – Went with the French meringue with raspberry ice cream, lemon ricotta, and passionfruit sauce. The meringue was crispy and melted into powder in your mouth—like a fancy marshmallow! A bit sweet on its own, but perfectly balanced with a scoop of raspberry ice cream—neither too sour nor too heavy. 🍨💖 💸 Pricey but worth it – With tip, it came to $300 for one person. But life’s too short not to enjoy a great meal now and then, right? 💰🙏 Have you been to Bludorn or have another favorite fine-dining spot in Houston?
