Boise, Idaho | This Russian Restaurant Is DELICIOUS! 😍🇷🇺
Was too busy eating to take proper photos, but here’s the gorgeous Pavlova Cake to set the mood 🍰✨ Unexpectedly great food finds in Idaho continue! This Russian spot is super close to downtown Boise. Google rating: 4.8 ⭐ Their hours are a bit “proud” (check before you go!), but the food is absolutely worth it. 🍰 Pavlova Cake Sweet, crispy meringue topped with cream — scoop a full spoon to get both textures! Perfect balance. 🍲 Vegetarian Borscht (Hot Appetizer) Approved by my Fujianese and Vietnamese friends: “Comforting and delicious!” Perfect with bread. The sour cream here is lighter, almost like yogurt. 🥞 Blini Combo (All Dips Included) SO GOOD! We couldn’t stop eating. The blini had a unique texture — thick yet light with tiny bubbles. Reminded us of Ethiopian injera. 🍖 Lamb Plov & Pelmeni The lamb rice dish (daily special) was tender but a bit soft for my taste. The beef pelmeni (dumplings in broth) were fantastic — tight filling, light soup. Highly recommend! 🍮 Dessert Platter What made three already-full people unable to stand up? This. Lemon Mousse & Honey Cake 👏 Protein Cookies (a bit sweet) Coconut Balls (just okay) Chocolate Vodka Balls? Interesting! Poppy Seed Ganache Cake (still in my fridge 😂) 🥶 Not Pictured / “Too Ugly” But Amazing: Cold Russian Soup: Light, fermented, slightly fizzy → perfect with bread and ham. So refreshing for summer! Drinks: Hot Hibiscus (unsweetened) Iced Hibiscus Tea (sweet) Both were delicious and perfect for a warm day. 📍 Practical Info: Small place, more outdoor seating. Was pretty full indoors/outdoors around 7 PM on a Tuesday. Closed several days a week — check Google for hours!
