Bonito, Brazil 🇧🇷: A Winter Paradise Worth Visiting

✨Why Visit? Bonito boasts some of Brazil’s (and South America’s) most stunning rivers, blue lagoons, and sinkholes. It follows a unique ecotourism model that limits visitor numbers and uses a voucher system to minimize environmental impact. 🍃When to Go? Winter (May to September) is the dry season, when rivers are crystal clear. The downside? Daytime temperatures can drop to 9°C — beautiful but chilly! 💎How to Get There? Take a bus or flight to Campo Grande, then a 4-hour bus to Bonito. Or fly directly to Bonito Airport. Allow at least 2 days for round-trip travel. 🍽️What to Eat? ✔️Juanita: Highly recommended (go early!).✔️Turquoise: Middle Eastern fusion cuisine.✔️Restaurante Cantinho da Vovó: Decent buffet.✔️Fresh Food Bistrô Saudável: Great coffee. vWhat to Do? 🩷Rio da Prata Conservation Area: Experience river snorkeling for the first time! The 50km journey starts at an organic farm where locals use termite mounds to enrich soil. Despite cold air temperatures, the water stays at 26°C due to thermal springs — warmer in the water than on land! 🩷Rio Sucuri: Crystal-clear but chilly waters. Snorkeling here means swimming through endless schools of fish. Perfect for hot days, though less geologically diverse than Rio da Prata. 🩷Buraco das Araras Nature Reserve: Home to a massive sinkhole once filled with trash (even a car without an engine remains at the bottom!). Spot Toco Toucans and Macaws here. #Buraco das #Rio da Prata#Bonito#Brazil#travel guide#trip diary#BonitoBrazil#Snorkeling
