Bonito's Natural "Giant Aquarium"

🄰I stayed in Bonito for a few days and absolutely fell in love with this town. It’s peaceful, scenic, with clean streets and charming standalone houses — perfect for grilling in the yard! ✨Activities like river snorkeling, cave diving, rock climbing, cycling, kayaking, and even Pantanal safaris are all available. If you have the budget, you could easily spend 1-2 weeks here without repeating experiences! 1ļøāƒ£ Barra do Sucuri šŸƒThe Sucuri River is the iconic turquoise-blue river you see in aerial photos. "Sucuri" means anaconda in Portuguese, and the river’s shape truly resembles a snake. Two farms offer tours here: Barra do Sucuri and Rio Sucuri. 🩷You only need to choose one. Rio Sucuri is 40 BRL more expensive, possibly because it includes horseback riding. I noticed Rio Sucuri has a high observation deck overlooking a small pond, which is great for photos. 2ļøāƒ£ Natural Aquarium The moment you enter the water, it’s breathtaking — like swimming in a giant natural aquarium! There are far more fish here than in Sucuri, though the water clarity decreases in the later sections. šŸ’ŽThe farm also houses crocodiles, parrots, anteaters, toucans, pigs, and even ANTA (an animal similar to an anteater). 3ļøāƒ£ Rio da Prata šŸƒLocated 35 km from town, this 4-hour tour includes a buffet lunch. The journey passes through vast grassland farms with countless termite mounds dotting the landscape. ✨If you’re lucky, you might spot anteaters — I saw an armadillo, which looks like a pangolin! This river offers the longest snorkeling/drifting experience. #Bonito#Rio da Prata#Natural Aquarium#Barra do Sucuri#BonitoBrazil#BrazilTravel#travel guide#Brazil
