Bonito's Natural "Giant Aquarium"
š„°I stayed in Bonito for a few days and absolutely fell in love with this town. Itās peaceful, scenic, with clean streets and charming standalone houses ā perfect for grilling in the yard! āØActivities like river snorkeling, cave diving, rock climbing, cycling, kayaking, and even Pantanal safaris are all available. If you have the budget, you could easily spend 1-2 weeks here without repeating experiences! 1ļøā£ Barra do Sucuri šThe Sucuri River is the iconic turquoise-blue river you see in aerial photos. "Sucuri" means anaconda in Portuguese, and the riverās shape truly resembles a snake. Two farms offer tours here: Barra do Sucuri and Rio Sucuri. š©·You only need to choose one. Rio Sucuri is 40 BRL more expensive, possibly because it includes horseback riding. I noticed Rio Sucuri has a high observation deck overlooking a small pond, which is great for photos. 2ļøā£ Natural Aquarium The moment you enter the water, itās breathtaking ā like swimming in a giant natural aquarium! There are far more fish here than in Sucuri, though the water clarity decreases in the later sections. šThe farm also houses crocodiles, parrots, anteaters, toucans, pigs, and even ANTA (an animal similar to an anteater). 3ļøā£ Rio da Prata šLocated 35 km from town, this 4-hour tour includes a buffet lunch. The journey passes through vast grassland farms with countless termite mounds dotting the landscape. āØIf youāre lucky, you might spot anteaters ā I saw an armadillo, which looks like a pangolin! This river offers the longest snorkeling/drifting experience. #Bonito#Rio da Prata#Natural Aquarium#Barra do Sucuri#BonitoBrazil#BrazilTravel#travel guide#Brazil
