🏠 Kan Suke 🗺️ R. Manuel da Nóbrega, 76 - Paraíso, São Paulo - SP, 04001-080 The Hype vs. Reality of São Paulo’s "Sushi God" Dragged here by a friend who swears it’s "the best sushi in SP"—complete with tales of a family-run joint: dad rolling sushi, son prepping, mom in the kitchen. Cue images of a São Paulo-style Jiro Dreams of Sushi—but does the omakase live up to the hype? 🍣 Taste: A Divisive Experience My sushi obsession usually starts and ends with salmon, so diving into their diverse menu was a trip. Here’s the tea: Heavy on Egg Elements: Almost every piece had egg yolk or white for richness, which got intense after a few bites. Great for bold palates, but overwhelming for my milder tastes. Freshness is There: No doubt about quality, but the strong flavors (think uni, aged tuna) felt like a masterclass I wasn’t quite ready for. Sashimi Texture: Perfectly sliced, but the raw intensity hit different at this price point. 🎭 The Showstopper: Sushi Art in Motion Sitting at the counter was mesmerizing: Chef pulls ingredients from labeled boxes like a magician, assembling each piece with precision. Sometimes he hands you sushi directly—no plate, just fresh-off-the-board goodness. Cool AF! His legendary knife? Cuts through fish like butter, no wasted movements. Total 🏮 Ambiance: Tiny but Intimate Wabi-sabi Vibes: Minimalist entrance, easy to miss if you’re not looking. Upstairs Tatami: Remove your shoes for a traditional setup, but downstairs at the counter is where the magic happens. Cozy AF: Only a few seats, so it’s like private sushi theater. 💸 The Price Tag (Ouch) 12-course cold omakase: ~400 R$ 12 cold + 4 hot courses: ~500 R$ (we chose this) With drinks: ~570 R$ per person. Yup, pricey. ⭐ Who Should Go? Rich foodies curious about avant-garde sushi People who love the experience of omakase Fans of family-run, artisanal spots Skip if you’re: On a budget Prefer classic, mild sushi flavors Expecting "value for money" in the traditional sense #SushiOmakase #SaoPauloFineDining #JapaneseCuisine #FoodieDebate #ArtisanalEats
