BrazilPantanal
I only saw sloths 🦥, spider monkeys 🐒, and howler monkeys during my week in the Amazon — animals you’re also very likely to spot in Costa Rica’s rainforests, which are much more accessible. 💫 For wildlife spotting, I highly recommend Pantanal. Many people haven’t even heard of this place — I learned about it during a casual conversation while hiking. It’s arguably South America’s best safari destination. 🗓️ Best Time to Visit: The dry season (June to October) is ideal for jaguar sightings. Low rainfall causes water levels to drop, exposing riverbanks. You can simply wait near water sources to spot jaguars and other animals coming to drink. However, be prepared for temperatures above 40°C 🥵 and higher prices 💰. Transportation / How to Explore: ✈️ Fly to Campo Grande (Southern Pantanal) or Cuiabá (Northern Pantanal). I chose the northern region for a better chance of jaguar sightings. Since there’s no public transportation to Pantanal, join guided tours departing from Campo Grande or Cuiabá. #Pantanal #WildlifeSafari #BrazilTravel #TravelTips#travel guide#Brazil
