Brussels Bozar | Fragile Bodies, Eternal Souls💧

💕Last month at the Fitzrovia Chapel in London was my first true encounter with the works of Berlinde De Bruyckere — a fragile, cruel beauty that was deeply moving. 💕Berlinde De Bruyckere is a Belgian artist known for constructing quasi-human sculptures with organic materials such as wax, wool, wood, and horsehide, earning her the title of “a poet who narrates life, death, and suffering through sculpture.” Her works often blur the lines between life and death, animal and human, resembling a gaze upon human suffering and a kind of mourning ritual. 💕Recently, she held a major solo exhibition titled “Khorós” at the Bozar art center in Brussels (2025.2.21 - 8.31), which was the biggest surprise of my visit to Brussels. Those who have a strong affinity for contemporary art must visit Bozar. The exhibition’s title is derived from the tragic chorus of ancient Greek theater, symbolizing a dialogue among artists. Her sculptures are placed alongside works by Cranach, Pasolini, and Patti Smith, covering 1000 square meters and reviewing her 25-year creative journey. 💕I often ponder: can art soothe trauma? In De Bruyckere’s world, the answer is definitive. She doesn’t attempt to mask the pain but gently envelops it, allowing you to see the scars and the possibility of empathy. #GalleryRecommendationSeason #ArtExhibition #VirtualArtTour #ContemporaryArtExhibition #ArtMuseum #Brussels #NicheExhibition #ExhibitionWithinSight
