Cafe Mogador—Moroccan restaurant in New York

Established in 1938, this long-standing Moroccan restaurant is located in the East Village of Manhattan. Upon entering, you're greeted by a wall covered with years of "Michelin recommendations". Even on weekday afternoons, the restaurant is bustling and nearly full. 🥙 Hummus $9 A classic Mezze, served with a pita bread. Every restaurant's chickpea paste and pocket bread are slightly different. Here, the hummus has a rich, thick texture, and the bread is similar to the leavened flatbread found in northern China. Spreading the hummus on the thick, chewy bread is incredibly delicious. 🧆 Falafel & Tahini $9 The golden period for falafel's texture is very brief, so it's essential to eat them freshly fried. When combined with hummus in a pita pocket, it becomes a characteristic Mediterranean sandwich. 🍖 Moroccan Tagines + Charmoulla $29 The Moroccan stewed lamb leg is their signature dish. The lamb is so tender it falls off the bone, and it's so fragrant you can't stop eating. Even after finishing, you're left wanting more. 📍Cafe Mogador East Village: 101 St Marks Pl, New York, NY 10009 Brooklyn:133 Wythe Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11249 #New York
