Came to Sappe for skewers, but got soul-hooked by the volcano ribs 🌋

Sappe opened last year and has been wildly popular, a sister store to Soothr, specializing in skewers. I hesitated to try it as many said it was overly salty. After dining, I found the restaurant listens to feedback and the saltiness is just right, especially the volcano ribs. A week after eating, I looked at the pictures and craved them again... those uncontrollable tears flowing from my mouth... Leng Zaab 🌋 The pot is deep, hiding four pork ribs! A perfect mix of fat and lean, they fall off the bone at the touch. The broth is savory with a classic Thai sourness, drinkable! I drank it all. I really like ribs, and compared to the volcano ribs I had at Nemesis, Sappe's meat is more tender, with a pressure-cooked texture. Ping Yang 🍖 There are 12 choices of skewers, and our meat-loving table ordered all meat. The whole table loved the beef tongue with scallions! The meat's aroma paired with the scallion's sweetness, even those who dislike the pungency of scallions can enjoy it. Hed Tod 🪸 The fried enoki mushrooms are like undersea corals, sprawling and oily, reminiscent of the northeastern Thai fried mushrooms. Kaw Moo Yang 🥓 The pork neck has a higher lean meat ratio, very chewy, quite mild, and needs dipping sauce for flavor. Khao Soi Gai Yang � A northern Thai flavor, with a Bee Cheng Hiang-style curry sauce + crispy fried egg noodles, a dual texture. If you like the eternal cycle of sweet and salty... 🤝 Dessert was a surprise! Kai Tao, golden fried ball skewers, have the texture of domestic pumpkin cakes, crispy and soft without sticking to your teeth. The taro and purple sweet potato ice cream doesn't have that off-putting artificial flavor, very creamy, not too sweet, with a nice cookie crumble base. Chao Guay I-Tim Nom Even the black sugar pearl grass jelly is mildly sweet. In a Southeast Asian restaurant that usually doesn't hold back on sugar, this is quite the gold standard 🫴 It's incredibly popular on weekday nights! You can't be seated until your whole party arrives... It was a bit cold while waiting, but the atmosphere and food warmed us up immediately.
