Canada's Top 100 Restaurants | No. 3 Joe Beef 🍽️⭐️
Joe Beef is ranked No. 3 in Canada's top restaurant list, holds two Michelin stars, and is on the Michelin Recommended list. With so many accolades, it’s no wonder that even famous faces like Little Potato and Obama have dined here! 🏆🍴 🍹 Bonheur D’occasion: A bright and clear drink featuring pear, citrus, and apple cider. It has a tangy sweetness with a hint of bitterness from the bitters added during mixing. I actually quite like this unique flavor! 🍐🍊 🦪 Oysters: I was never a fan of raw oysters before, thinking the salty seawater flavor overshadowed everything else. But this plate of oysters reignited my passion for raw seafood! They were fresh, sweet, and plump, with a subtle sauce that enhanced rather than masked their natural brine and sweetness. The oysters were impeccably clean. 🌊😋 🧀 Croquettes D’anguille Fumée: The smoky flavor is perfectly balanced, and the texture of the fried croquettes is spot on. They are a bit salty on their own, but pairing them with the white sauce makes the taste more harmonious. 🐟👌 🦞 Lobster Spaghetti: The server mentioned that since the lobster is a "huge size" at two pounds, it’s better suited for sharing. However, it didn’t seem that huge to me… The creamy bacon sauce was fantastic – rich but not greasy, with a perfect cheese flavor that coated the pasta just right. The lobster meat was incredibly firm and juicy. I’m not usually a big fan of pasta, but this lobster spaghetti had me giving a thumbs up. Definitely a must-try! 🍝🦞 🥩 Bœuf Cocotte au Madère & Cèpes: Let me give you a heads-up about this beef stew. My boyfriend said the first main course would surely be a hit, but later admitted it’s worth checking reviews (this dish is rarely ordered). Although the beef was extremely tender and flavorful, and the cream and cheese broth was rich, the real issue was the porcini mushrooms. They were too bitter, overwhelming the entire dish with a single taste. The subtle acidity from the white vinegar in the broth didn’t help, making it taste very health-conscious and not in a good way. 🍄😣 🍟 Garlic Fries: Deliciously crispy, though a bit salty. 🍟👌 🍮 Marjolaine de Fernand Point: On our Saturday visit, there were only three dessert options, and we chose this cake, which was the most popular. Personally, I found it a bit too sweet and, since it’s gluten-free, made with almond flour, it wasn’t very fluffy but rather dense. The airy cream on top was nice, though! 🎂😋 🎶 I must say, the service at Joe Beef was outstanding. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive. They cleaned the table and changed the utensils after every dish. We arrived at our reserved time, but the table wasn’t ready, so we waited in the back for a bit. They were kind enough to send us a plate of oysters to make up for the wait. 🕰️👏 #MontrealEats #CanadianFood #CanadianLife #MyFoodDiary ### Name: Joe Beef Address: 2491, rue Notre Dame Ouest (between Charlevoix & Vinet), Montreal QC H3J1N6, Canada Type: Restaurant ###
